Caregiver Support Group
Being a caregiver can be isolating. You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma from dealing with the sudden life change. Or from being overwhelmed with the responsibilities that continue to mount in your life. This may be the first or one of many times you are dealing with medical conditions, a new diagnosis, a loss of a loved one, or dealing with having to care for a loved one. All you are trying to do is balance work and life, but you are neglecting self-care to meet the needs of society and the people around you.
Often as caregivers, you may find you have a lack of support or are held to higher expectations than are possible for one person. At Elevate You Counseling, we understand what you are going through, that is why we offer caregiver support groups. You will be in a space of individuals who understand the changes, loss, and isolation you may be dealing with. And, you will receive the necessary support you need with peers who get it and can give you peace of mind that you are not alone.
If You’re Experiencing The Following, A Caregiver Support Group May Be A Great Fit For You.
When you are a caregiver, either naturally, or by life circumstances, one of the areas where we do not advocate is when we need help. We cannot do it all. Trust me, we all need breaks and much-needed acts of self-care and self-love. Here are some of the reason’s individuals seek support groups:
- Sleep disturbance
- Caregiver stress
- Racing thoughts
- Crying episodes
- Loss of concentration
- Absences from work
- Loss of support system (friends and family)
- Anxiety, depression, trauma
- Caregiver burnout and overwhelmed
- Struggling with relations
- Neglecting own mental, physical, and emotional needs
- Difficulty balancing day-to-day tasks
If you find that you are struggling with any of these issues, then getting help from a caregiver’s support group can give you an increased sense of relief.

Our support groups are most appropriate for people who are wanting added peer support. You will work with individuals or family members that are going through similar situations. This is a safe space for everyone to share their struggles. Together you will find inspiration and solutions to be able to cope and excel.
In our caregiver support groups, we approach sessions using psychoeducation and our groups are process-oriented. This means we may use a person-centered approach, CBT, or a wide range of other modalities as we take you through elements of basic talk therapy and develop healthy coping mechanisms that help you thrive once again. We understand that being an adult caregiver comes with challenges, and we want to be able to support you at a pace that fits your needs.
